January Adventures 2018

As 2018 nears the end, I wanted to take time to recap some of my fun memories from the year! I’ll be doing it by month because there are too many for one post! Here are some of my January adventures.

The year started off very cold and I was not into it. Layers are not my favorite and I had to bundle up!

We got some snow! The restaurant where I work stayed open even when most of the city was pretty shut down.

My friend Amber made me dinner at her house and we drank wine.

I also brought over a fun disco light thing and we took ridiculous pictures with our friend David.

My cat Neptune was cuddly.

More snow! My little car got stuck at home for a few days because this is it parked at the top of my steep driveway.

There was enough snow where wine could be chilled in it.

My friend Carly and I went to see X Ambassadors at Marathon Music Works and they put on a great show!

I went to bartaco! Tacos and margs.

Brian and I had a casual Friday night trip to the liquor store after picking up some essentials from Kroger.

We went to the Franklin taco festival and ate some tacos.

I became an honorary Vikings fan once the Steelers were out of the playoffs. My friend is a huge Vikings fan and we watched the playoff games at Wilhagan’s which is where the Vikings fan club meets. Their second to last game of the season had an incredible ending that I will never forget experiencing! Everyone was jumping and screaming and hugging each other!

My work threw their annual Christmas party and we took ridiculous selfies.

My friends helped open Tenn, which is the restaurant inside the Holston House hotel downtown. We got to go to the soft opening and eat through the menu. The food and drinks were very delicious! My favorite item on the menu is the smoked trout dip!

Brian and I ate our way through the Hot Chicken week lineup! We went to 5 different hot chicken places in one night. This was awesome for our taste buds and slightly less awesome for our stomachs. But totally worth it. Hattie B’s is our favorite in Nashville which is great because we now live only a couple minutes from one of their locations! This one is Hattie B’s.

This is a deep fried grilled cheese hot chicken sandwich from Pepperfire.

Hot chicken bao buns from Nomzilla.

After all the hot chicken we went to The Fox for shots of Fernet and specialty cocktails. My cocktail had gold flakes in it and was delicious!

Carly, Angela and I went to brunch at 5th & Taylor where I work and it was incredible as always. $5 mimosa + discounted food ftw.

Then I had my first top golf experience! I am not very good at all but it is very fun!

I had a catch up dinner with old coworkers where we ate sushi and talked about life.

Overall a really awesome January that started the year off on a positive note!

Stay tuned for more 2018 recap posts! Lots more adventures have happened since January!
