March 2020 – Minimize

My theme of the month for March was Minimize. My original goal list included things like do all the laundry, declutter entire apartment, get rid of some old clothes and plan free nights. Little did I know how much this month would entail.

I decided to take a break from posting on social media – all four of the Instagram accounts that I have. In an attempt to break the dopamine addiction related to social media likes, I wanted to minimize the amount of notifications that I would get. It was also to make me think about social media less. I kept checking social media though and became obsessed with all the COVID-19 coverage. After working from home and the Safer At Home ordinances, I broke and started posting again.

Here are things that happened in march that you didn’t see on Instagram before I started posting again.

Brian and I went snow tubing at Tyrol Basin.

I got sick for a few days and worked from home.

bartaco hangs. I did make an exception to post about Margarita March Madness to help promote the event!

I cut my finger on a mandoline kitchen slicer.

But Brian did finish the recipe I was attempting to make and it was delicious!

Galentine’s Day brunch with some new friends.

I made green bean casserole and pork tenderloin for dinner. Forgot to take pics of the pork.

Ordered domino’s! And watched The Outsider on HBO.

Brian and I went to dinner at Bonefish Grill. Where we met someone’s who had a friend with a litter of puppies up for adoption. We are getting a little French Bulldog Shih Tzu mix at the beginning of May!

We tried Avenue Club and Bubble Up Bar.

My coworkers had chain night. We went to Chili’s to drink $3 margaritas to celebrate their birthday. Then we walked around the mall and went to Cheesecake Factory for cheesecake.

Brian and I went to late night BBQ at Heritage Tavern. It was delicious. I can’t wait to go back here when restaurants open back up. They are doing a family style takeout menu that we will definitely be ordering in the next couple of weeks.

I got my hair done. Just in time to go into quarantine times.

The next week I went to work on Monday and started to work from home on Tuesday. I haven’t left my neighborhood since March 17th. Doing my part to flatten the curve and reduce the spread of COVID-19. It is a terrifying virus and I hope we can get through this hardship soon as a country and planet.

Brian and I have been cooking a lot at home. Neptune is probably very tired of us by now. We have watched a ton of shows on Netflix, Hulu, Prime and HBO. Neptune turned 5 and we celebrated with a cake! Brian did yoga for the first time every. Trying to stay positive and hopeful for the future. Excited for my April VB challenge coming soon!
